Taping
Rigid Taping
The most common form of taping used in sports. The sturdy and non-stretchy tape is applied on multiple joints (most commonly the ankle, knee and shoulder) which absorb large amounts of force. Rigid tape helps to support joints and restrict range of motion while returning to play.
Kinesiology Taping
Different from rigid tape. Kinesiology tape is stretchable and designed to imitate the skin’s elasticity. The tape lifts up your skin to increase blood flow and proprioception. It can be used to facilitate muscular and joint recovery without the restriction in range of motion compared to rigid tape. In addition, the tape can assist with lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling and bruising.
